Below are links to various publications, organisations and websites that have connections to myself, my current or previous work and my website.
I have added a brief description for each, and please feel free to connect to each one to find out more:
Time Out is a worldwide guide to arts, entertainment, food and drink, film, travel and more. It showcases the essential highights from over 50 of the world's most exciting cities, but crucially is powered by local expertise. The site covering Leeds was started in 2015 and its home page can be found here: Time Out - Leeds.
Leeds Confidential is the new equivalent to successful sites in Manchester and Liverpool and describes itself as Impartial reporting on food, drink, lifestyle, events, and everything happening around our city. To view the Leeds Confidential 'home' page, click here: Leeds Confidential
The Old Peacock
The Old Peacock has stood on Elland Road opposite the football ground since 1826, in fact, long before there was a football ground. It has served generations of football fans and in 2013 was bought by Ossett Brewery, undertaking a £300,000 refurbishment to bring it into the 21st century. Today it is a vibrant pub dedicated to fine food, real ales and friendly service. In essense; not your typical football pub. To view the Old Peacock website including the food and drink menus, click here: The Old Peacock
The Square Ball
The Square Ball is a Leeds United independent supporters' magazine issued 10 times a season, and with an accompanying chat forum, podcast and online store. The magazine is one of the longest-running in English football having first been published in 1989. In 2012 and again in 2014 the magazine was voted winner in the 'Best Fanzine' category at the Football Supporters' Federation Awards in London. Official Leeds United Publications
The Leeds United matchday programme is available at all home games, in the club shop at all times, and on subscription. The Leeds United Official Club Website publishes articles on its 'News' page, which I have contributed to. Leeds, Leeds, Leeds Magazine ceased publication in summer 2011. Follow the link to the clubs website and read about the Official Matchday Programme and how to subscribe: Leeds United Official Publications.
Sabotage Times is the latest venture of James Brown (founder of Loaded magazine, Leeds, Leeds, Leeds magazine and former editor of GQ, amongst other things). The site is a great destination for people interested in football, fashion, sport, opinion, relationships, drink, film and many other subjects; a one-stop-shop of quality writing which is updated several times every day. Here is a link to the main site.
Twitter is a real-time information network, a social media and micro-blogging site that connects you to the latest information about what and who you find interesting. You can find the public streams you find most compelling, follow the conversations and even join in. Anybody is accessible, whatever walk of life they are from. Here is a link to my Twitter feed.
Facebook needs no introduction, much-maligned in some circles, but a social networking site with diverse uses nonetheless. Providing you follow one of life's most basic principles, ie. choose your friends carefully, I find it perfectly harmless, quite amusing for promoting random thoughts, and a vehicle through which to keep my friends informed of what I am doing, regardless of whether they are actually interested. LinkedIn connects you to people from a similar professional sector whether currently or historically. It allows you to share your work, ambitions and background. You can join communitites of like-minded people and connect with businesses and individuals that are relevant to your career and interests. You can see my profile if you follow this link: Jon Howe LinkedIn profile
My Brother Andrew Howe has his own website on the link below. This shows a brief outline of his photography and painting work, with appropriate links to some shows, projects and exhibitions he has been involved in. He has some of his work available on his site, but also has a link to his Flickr site, which holds much more of his photography work, including the photos I have used on my website. FQ Magazine is now published bi-monthly as an E-Zine, ie. on-line version only. You can subscribe and view previous issues here:
The Press Association
The Press Association is the leading multimedia content provider and national news agency in the United Kingdom and Ireland, offering unrivalled content and digital media services. Leeds Computer Repairs
Leeds Computer Repairs is a rapidly growing one-stop-shop for all IT-related issues, including hardware, software and all forms of media communications. It is much easier to check out the website because I can't do justice to how much they are capable of doing. David at Leeds Computer Repairs helped me invaluably with the design and execution of this website. Leeds Computer Repairs
