I am an independent, completely unattached writer, available for all projects individual or communal, big or small, round or fat, poetic, sardonic, obsessive or just plain love stories about smoked cheese.

My writing style is adaptable and suitable for both digital and print media. I am interested in contributing SEO content, web content, printed features and articles, blogs, social media, press releases, promotional material and book projects.

Current status

I work on various short and medium term freelance projects with a number of different partners.

Currently I provide freelance content for two digital marketing agencies based in Leeds and Harrogate, these consist of blog articles, news features, SEO content and website landing pages for various clients in the engineering, travel, hospitality, environmental testing, entertainment and legal sectors.

In 2016 I began contributing to the Leeds Confidential website. The Confidential group have websites for Manchester, Liverpool and now Leeds. The Leeds site describes itself as "Impartial reporting on food, drink, lifestyle, events and everything happening around our city". So far I have contributed bar reviews, list articles, comment editorials and gig previews.

Since 1994 I have been a contributing writer to the award-winning Leeds United independent supporters' magazine The Square Ball, which continues today.

The Only Place For Us: An A-Z History of Elland Road cover.I worked on compiling a definitive history of Elland Road Football Ground for over three years and 'The Only Place For Us: An A-Z History of Elland Road' was published in February 2015. Such a book has never been attempted before and includes the development of the stadium, the changing environment in the surrounding area and the history and anecdotes surrounding the many features that make up the matchday experience. The book includes many memories and comment from various well-known Leeds United writers and personalities such as Howard Wilkinson and Bill Fotherby and has a foreword by David Batty. This has been a long term project involving huge amounts of research, interviews and studying of photos, as well as simply compiling the information and presenting it. In support of the book I have appeared on BBC Radio Leeds, LUTV and in the Yorkshire Evening Post.
